MY PROFESSIONAL APPROACH
ACADEMIC COACH
My professional approach is different from other tutors. I pride myself on recognising the potential of each unique student. My lessons are prepared to engage and progress the student, identify their starting point and work together to meet their learning goals.
Every student I meet is different. Each student has talents and strengths that can be harnessed to overcome learning barriers. Using a strength-based approach and an academic coaching model, students feel empowered within their learning. They begin to understand how their brain works and what strategies work best for them.
I will provide the student with strategies and techniques that they can use to support revision, spelling, focus and concentration, organisation and motivation and confidence.
My students make exceptional progress using these methods. They become confident, independent learners equipped for life in the classroom and beyond.
If your child requires academic support or finds managing the school environment tricky, academic coaching could be the solution. Get in touch today to find out more about my services.
A STUDENT CENTRED APPROACH
Personalised Guidance Every Step of the Way
Listening to the student is vital to understanding how they learn best. I always take the time to get to know my students as they are experts and often understand their barriers and strengths better than anyone. Knowing my students in this way enables me to plan individualised lessons. Each lesson progresses the student and helps them to build strategies to use moving forward.
Helping students to ‘fail safely’ is critical to developing academic resilience and motivation. I often work with students who have become disheartened about learning and feel ‘no good’. I aim to build a ‘can do’ attitude for all students, teaching up-to-date skills and strategies to help them become resilient learners.
